About Linda Diane Taylor
In this year of 2017 My intent is to create New Art with intense colour that solicits emotion and questions. I want to paint animals, children in sports, still life and people doing things I love. Maybe I will throw a few abstracts or a concept for thought.
Illness doesn't allow me to work as a Registered Nurse or Manager in the Health Care or Social Worker Industry - I do miss working with the people. Art has always been my fall back, my stress reliever and my other passion. Focusing on what I can do now - I can paint and I can write.
I am Canadian Artist. I take an idea or a photograph and work at molding color and materials to create a question or a message. I aim for a "heart" reaction. My influences come from the old masters, new technology, photos, and causes & visions of a bright future. My style is ever changing and developing. I love to experiment.
In my portfolio you will find pet portraits, personal portraits, ideas from visions, abstracts, digital art and my experiments.
Drum Making, For 30 years I made drums for ceremony and for other artists and created designs. It is not my focus at this time but who knows if it sparks me I may make a drum.
I have painted indoor and outdoor wall murals. My greatest being on the "Street of Dreams" in Coquitlam, British Columbia. Between 2009-1012 as a volunteer I directed and painted murals inside and outside the Birch Bay Hostel. Today I advise some of my past students on their murals.
With amazing success I used Art Therapy while working in the Addictions and Poverty Industry. Now time to use my own medicine.
Art Education: Private Training at Fraser Valley Academy of Art 1985-1987 with Atelier Sandor Meszaros,
numerous workshops, and most of all I am Self taught through experimentation and then their is YouTube.
Art as Therapy: Study of Art Therapy through Vancouver Counseling and Hypnotherapy Institute 1989.
All about the drum: taught by Canadian First Nations Elders and Grandmother Leah Patrict.
